Hattasan Son-ei-ji Temple in Fukuroi

Today the weather is fine, so I decided to visit Hattasan Son-ei-ji temple. Hattasan temple is about 40 minutes drive from Hamamatsu, it is located in a forest on a mountain in Fukuroi city.

The way to the main buildings of the temple is rather steep and has many steps.

This Hattasan is very famous for 'Yakuyoke Dango', the evil-proof dumplings which is the cake made of rice powder with sweet red beans paste.

Anyhow, those who love Japanese old culture may enjoy the mood and landscapes there.

People would visit this temple wearing Japanese traditional outfit kimono and take photos around the temple.
Additionally, you can enjoy the hundreds of wind chimes in summer
Many visitors came with their kids, there is a playground for kids to play and for the parent to take a rest.
Around this time of year, ajisai or hydrengea flowers are blooming in the temple. Lots of umbrella decoration is also on displayed.
They arranged the umbrellas so it looks like a giant ajisai flower.
To get to Hattasan temple, take a JR Tokaido line train from Hamamatsu station to Fukoroi station, walk eight minutes to the Nichiasu bus stop (ニチアスバス停), and take the bus bound for Hattasan (法多山行). Ride the bus for 14 stops, or approximately 13 minutes and get off at Hattasan bus stop (法多山行). From there, it is approximately a four-minute walk to Hattasan Sonei Temple.
