Hamamatsu Castle has been newly reopened!

Where do you go first when you come to Hamamatsu? "Hamamatsu Castle" is a place that many people recommend. Did you know that Hamamatsu Castle has been undergoing renovation work since the end of October last year? It has been 450 years since Ieyasu Tokugawa built Hamamatsu Castle. Since it was a milestone year, the exhibits inside were further expanded and opened to the puplic starting from January 1st. Hamamatsu Castle has been significantly renewed. So I went to see the inside of the castle at once.

First of all, looking over the exhibition on the first floor, it looks much more stylish than before. The black-based exhibition panel is also very fashionable. The panel explanations are available in multiple languages, so I would definitely recommend it to foreigners as well. There are also Japanese volunteer guides at all times. Their explanation is very detailed and the guides can answer any questions about the castle. And if you go up the stairs to the 3rd floor, there is an observatory with a panoramic view of Hamamatsu city. It gives good feeling on a nice day!

In the clear winter season, you can see Mt. Fuji in the distance.
Don’t you want to enjoy the feeling of touring the castle tower. A tour of the castle tower is 200 yen for adults over high school. Junior high school students and younger can enter the museum free of charge.
