Ninja Shurikens Throwing Experience at Chitose Gun Model Shop in Hamamatsu City

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a ninja? Do you want to learn how to throw shurikens, the iconic weapons of the stealthy warriors? If you are in Hamamatsu city, you can have a chance to experience the thrill of shuriken throwing at the Chitose Gun Model Shop, a store that sells various kinds of guns, knives, and ninja goods.

The shop has a special section called the Shuriken Throwing Experience Dojo, where you can practice throwing shurikens at a target (¥300~). The dojo is designed to be safe and fun, so you don't have to worry about hurting yourself or others. You can also wear a ninja costume for free and feel like a real ninja. The shop owner will teach you how to hold and throw shurikens properly.

I visited the dojo with my sons and my brother, and we had a blast. We competed with each other to see who could hit the most targets and score the highest points. Some people compete with their friends, and the loser has to pay for dinner or drinks. The shop owner rewarded my son with a shuriken because he scored the highest point, and a certificate for passing the Basic Ninja level. He said we should come back again to try to pass the Intermediate Ninja level exams.

We also tried the shuriken-darts game, which is like playing darts with shurikens. It was originally designed by Nagata san, the owner of the Chitose model gun shop. It was challenging but exciting. Even though we wore ninja costumes and threw shurikens, we didn’t feel hot because there were fans and air-conditioners in the store. A great place to meet up with friends.

You can also experience gun shooting here. You can choose from a variety of air pistols, from realistic replicas that differentiate by user age to colorful toy guns. We learned how to load and shoot air pistols from the friendly owner. We also tried different types of shooting, such as single shot, double shot, and burst shot. It was amazing to see how the air pistols worked and how accurate they were. We felt like we were in an action movie or game.

The best part of the experience was trying flint sickles and flints from the shop. These are tools that the old Japanese used to use to create sparks. We learned that this custom is still practiced in Japan (even in Hamamatsu station) as a way of wishing someone a safe journey, or making a wish. I decided to use them to wish luck to my son on his High school entrance exams. I struck the flints together and created a shower of sparks. It was a beautiful and memorable sight.

The shuriken throwing and gun shooting experience at the Chitose Gun Model Shop was one of the most fun and unique things I have ever done in Hamamatsu City. It was a great way to learn about the ninja culture and history, as well as to have some fun exercise and stress relief.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different and exciting to do in Hamamatsu City. You can have a ninja experience at a location close to Hamamatsu Station, just a 5-minute walk from the station. It is located in downtown crowded with restaurants and hotels, so you can easily enjoy it before or after a meal when you have a little free time.
