Hamamatsu Diorama Factory

What is Diorama, I wondered when I first heard the word.
A diorama is a replica of a scene, typically a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase.

Hamamatsu Diorama factory recently moved to 1F from 2F in Zaza city. When you visit Hamamatsu Diorama Factory, prepare to be amazed. All the replicas are so detailed made. So much talent, work, and time poured into it.

More than 70 works by Takuji Yamada are exhibited here. Takuji Yamada is a diorama modeler who expresses the nostalgic scenery of the Showa era with a scale model. National professional modeler champion in the TV Tokyo program "TV Champion".

‎He is active in a wide range of genres, from Gundam models to tokusatsu and military models, but what really exerts his true nature is most often in dioramas. Long before the so-called Showa boom, he has been working on many diorama works that reflect scenes from the Showa period.

Takuji Yamada's works, nicknamed "The King of Scenes," convey to the viewer the air, smell, light, wind, temperature, and even the warmth and emotions of people at that moment. You can almost hear the words being exchanged.‎ He even made a diorama of himself.

If you are a  fan of small figures and items, I totally recommend you to visit this exhibition.

Interesting tips for taking photos of a diorama scene, you must try to take shots from different angles. You will be able to see various scenes.

Some of the works include Hamamatsu Diorama Grand Prix winners' works.
