There is a place in Hamamatsu where kids can sled down on a man-made hill all year long in any season. Wanpaku Sledding Slope in Miyakoda Park is very popular among the locals.
Sleds, elbow pads, and knee pads are available for rent FREE (you may not bring your own sled).
Hours of Operation 10am - 3pm, staff lunch break is from 12pm-1pm. The slope will be closed in the case of rain. Slope Usage is Fee of charge. Kids age range From 3-year-olds to 6th graders (children under the elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian) can use the Slope.
Please wear gloves, long sleeves, and long pants. During crowded times, take turns sliding after 3 times. Dangerous ways of sliding such as going down while standing or sliding in groups are prohibited. Covid19 prevention procedures are also being taken like measuring temperature and disinfecting sled and helmet after used,
The vast site of the Miyakoda Park complex is surrounded by abundant greenery and water, and you can enjoy the nature of the four seasons. Many people visit every day for walks and jogging. There is a high degree of satisfaction with children, such as facilities where you can move your body as much as you want, such as playful slopes and wooden compound playsets, and a lawn open space where you can relax in the sun.
The playful slope, where you can sled down on a vast artificial turf at once, attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year and is the most popular facility.
I didn't have the chance to explore the rest of the park. There is a lake, suspension bridge, and playgrounds. Next time I will explore the other side of the park and write on the blog.
There are 3 parking lots that can accommodate 324 cars.
