Okuni Shrine

Hi there! This is TW, the staff at iNHAMAMATSU.COM.

In continuation of my last post regarding natural landscapes in Hamamatsu area, Today, I would like to share my other favorite spot, Okuni Shrine, with you.

Okuni Shrine, with a history of over 1460 years, is one of the four major Shinto Shrines in Shizuoka Prefecture. While the temple is treasured as Yu-niwa (a sacred realm where it has been purified to worship Japanese deities) which includes the main sanctuary, the cloisters, it is also familiar to the local as a spot of peace and relaxation.

The precincts are full of nature, with cherry blossoms in the spring, Japanese irises and hydrangeas in the summer, and maple leaves in the fall, which attract many tourists. It allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere that makes you feel like Kyoto.
