Do not put the Bento-box on the side

This morning I made Bento-boxes for my children. And my partner helped to pack them in the bag. He tried to put the freshly made lunch box sideways without any hesitation. I stopped his hand and told him not to turn sideways.

Then he said, "Everything is food, so why not mix it?"

Woops! No, no, no, no! Each side dish has a different taste. I made bentos, minding the colors of food! It was culture shock to me.

So make sure you don't put the Bento-box that someone has made for you on the sideways. You might not have idea what I am talking about. But keep in mind that it's a big deal for our Bento culture.
